Although a large wheat crop is expected, there are reports of relatively poor quality in some production
regions because of heavy rains during the harvest period. The wet conditions can cause sprouted wheat
that can affect the falling number.
Agricultural remedies form an important part of the agricultural industry. The Crop Protection Division of the Southern African Grain Laboratory has ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, as well as OECD GLP compliance, which is required to assist the industry to comply with South African regulations.
