“During 2019, SAGL was presented with a certificate of recognition from the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) for the successful maintenance of its ISO 17025 Accreditation for more than 20 years. This international recognition enables the laboratory to fulfil the aim of delivering accurate quality analyses to the agricultural industry and vision to be internationally competitive.”

The falling number test in the baking context

Although a large wheat crop is expected, there are reports of relatively poor quality in some production
regions because of heavy rains during the harvest period. The wet conditions can cause sprouted wheat
that can affect the falling number.
