SAGL Services

The analysis scope includes milling, grading, physical, chemical, rheological, baking, mycotoxin as well as macro- and micronutrient analyses.  The SAGL also provide analytical and training services to customers in most Southern African countries as well as other African countries.

The SAGL has expanded the scope of analysis by adding a Crop Protection Division in 2016 to support the broader agricultural community in Southern Africa with accurate and reliable analytical results for registration of plant protection products, quality control analysis after manufacturing, the extension of shelf-life and seed treatment analyses.

Participation in several national and international proficiency schemes demonstrates technical competency, international comparability, and traceability to international standards.  The laboratory analyse about 130 proficiency samples per year, covering almost 500 analyses, including various product matrices.

SAGL has received Accuracy Awards for different analyses from the American Association of Cereal Chemists International (AACCI) over several consecutive years.  This award is presented to the laboratory submitting the most accurate analysis results for a proficiency scheme.

The Southern African Grain Laboratory provides a number of training courses throughout the year. Check our page for updates on the latest laboratory training sessions.
